News Info For You Guys - This New Zealand town has 1,000 job openings and will pay you to move there || Kaitangata on New Zealand's south island has an employment problem.
With a population of 800, the tiny town on the country's southern coast has so many jobs it doesn't know what to do with them. According to The Guardian, youth unemployment in the burg is down to two.
"Not 2 percent," Mayor Bryan Cadogan told the UK newspaper, "just two unemployed young people."
It's so bad, Cadogan and other city officials say, that they're willing to pay foreigners $165,000 - $220,000 in New Zealand currency - to relocate and fill up to 1,000 job openings in the dairy processing and freezing industries.
One of the men spearheading the effort to draw these prospective employees, a dairy farmer named Evan Dick, wants to make Kaitangata great again by bussing in outsiders.
"We have jobs, we have houses, but we don't have people," he told The Guardian. "We want to make this town vibrant again, we are waiting with open arms."
The offer is apparently open to anyone who'd be eligible to work in the country, according to a Facebook post published by Cadogan.
